PM Orders Sihanoukville Authorities to Maintain Security for Tourism Comeback

SIHANOUKVILLE: Prime Minister Hun Manet spoke to businesses and administration this morning to unveil some new strategies for investment in Sihanoukville. He asked that the city’s authorities pay attention to security, especially in the fight against drugs and illegal weapons trafficking.

The PM said that false negative press had affected Sihanoukville tourism and that strengthening security in the province would result in tourists directly promoting the area to others so that Sihanoukville can attract more tourism.

"Please increase the inspection activities strictly and consider the measures thoroughly with this work," he said.

He added that maintaining safety is very important in building the confidence of tourists to the province.
